20220419: In Search of Soup

Tuesday

I woke up feeling much better today, although a bit nervous for an important meeting at work. Sergio on the other hand, was not feeling as well. He had a bit of a cold and was super stuffy with a stomachache.
Sergio was a blob of blankets most of the day.

My morning went smoothly but as the day went on I noticed myself getting more of a headache. Sergio stayed home for lunch so Haisting and I met at Bojo San Restaurant for lunch to get some soup. Unfortunately, they were just out of soup as we got there so we both got BBQ meat, Haisting with a BBQ chicken sandwich and me with BBQ pork.

The second half of the day went by a bit slower, as my headache was not fun. I would describe it as a combination sinus and tension headache. I’m hoping the tension headache will be better tomorrow as my shoulders recover from carrying the heavy pack. After work, Haisting enjoyed the sunset from the rooftop on our Airbnb while Sergio and I took a nap in hopes to feel better. After said nap, we headed out to get a pre-Pericle call “smothie” (as it’s spelled on the sign) since it was going to be a late dinner night. Before we left, I saw a GIANT SPIDER in the bathroom, which Sergio so nicely smashed with his shoe. Haisting alluded to the fact that it wasn’t the first spider they’ve seen in the Airbnb (O_o)
Sergio forgot his wallet with cash so I had to pay the upcharge for using a credit card - after that the total was still only $2.81 for a 16oz smoothie (mindblowing)!

I enjoyed my smoothie while journalling before the Pericle call. The call ended early so we headed off to dinner to get some ramen and maybe some sushi too!
The only police vehicles I’ve seen are “Tourism Police” which show how safe they want the tourists to be!

We arrived to our dinner spot - only to find they only had one ramen left and were out of rice. We were sitting in this central courtyard with a bunch of restaurants around it and we got a menu from every place. By the end we had four menus on our table. Haisting ordered a cookie to-go from one of them and we were on our way to find another dinner spot.

We ended up going to Kintaro - which was our back up restaurant from the night before! It worked out and they had space, along with an absurdly loud group of English people. More importantly, they had ramen - it was even featured on the front of their menu! We got a spicy tuna roll to start and Serg and Haisting both got the ramen; I opted for a vegetarian udon.
My dinner, Wakame-Udon.

My bowl was MASSIVE and I don’t think I ate even half of it. We packed up the rest and brought it back for Sergio to have more of tomorrow, since brothy food feels so nice when you’re sick.

After getting back to the Airbnb, we promptly started our nighttime routine of getting ready for bed.
